Colonoscopy

Your colon plays an important role in removing waste products and toxins from your body. If your colon is not working properly, your overall health may become compromised. We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy colon in order for you to experience optimal health and wellness.

Gastroesophageal Reflux

Also known as GERD or acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux is a condition that occurs when stomach acids back up into the esophagus, causing pain and discomfort. This condition is common among pregnant women. More severe than occasional “heartburn,” GERD that cannot be relieved through diet and lifestyle changes or short-term medications may require surgery.

Linx Procedure

Until recently, people with moderate to severe gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD had few treatment options to help manage or reduce their heartburn and other symptoms. They had to rely on acid-blocking medications, such as H2 Blockers and Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs), which don’t always work and can lead to negative side effects. The LINX procedure offers another treatment option.

Nissen Fundoplication

For those who suffer moderate to severe gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or acid reflux, a surgical procedure called Nissen fundoplication is the established gold standard treatment approach.

GERD, or acid reflux, refers to bile or stomach acid that regurgitates up into your esophagus after you eat, inflaming or irritating the esophageal lining. Symptoms include a burning sensation in the chest known as heartburn, irritation in the throat, and chronic cough. Bile backs up into the esophagus when the lower esophageal sphincter (LES)–the junction between the esophagus and the stomach–fails to close properly and block the acid.
